ABOUT NUCKY’S
Nucky’s Speakeasy, named after the famous Atlantic City, NJ political boss and racketeer Enoch “Nucky” Johnson, is located in the heart of downtown Anoka beneath Social Contract Supper Club, in the Old Post Office. This beautiful structure was built in 1916 and is on the MN Historical Registry.
The Speakeasy has its own private entry in the back where there is plenty of parking in the public lot. Look for the red door and descend the outside stairway along the building. Once through the red door, “ring” for the Postmaster and let them know what you want. Wink Wink.
STEP ONE: Go around back at 300 E. Main Street, Anoka, MN 55303.
STEP TWO: Find our Neon Sign
STEP THREE: Find the red door to the basement entrance.
STEP FOUR: Knock & tell us the password. If you don’t know it, we’ll help you figure it out.
WHAT’S INSIDE?
Once you place your post office order, you'll step back to the Prohibition era. The walls show history and art about bootleggers and events from 1920-1933. The century-old red brick walls add to the old-time atmosphere.
Relax at our illuminated bar, grab a table for two to six, or meet friends in "Nucky’s Nook," if you have a party of six or more. Enjoy craft cocktails, beer, and Prohibition-inspired drinks. We also offer many non-alcoholic drinks in the same spirit.
Feel free to dress up in 1920’s flair to add to the ambience of the historical time. Otherwise just dress up like going out means something to you. It’s means a lot to us that you’re choosing us when you go out!
